Nicotine Pouches

Nicotine Pouches

Nicotine pouches are small, tobacco-free sachets of plant fibre, pharmaceutical-grade nicotine and food-safe flavourings. You place one between your upper lip and gum, where the nicotine absorbs through the gum over the next 5–30 minutes — no smoke, no vapour, no spitting and nothing to charge. Because they contain no tobacco leaf, they are fully legal in the UK and are not affected by the ban on snus. Around 522,000 adults in Great Britain now use them, roughly ten times more than in 2020, according to UCL research published in The Lancet Public Health (December 2025).

We stock 330+ pouches in Mini, Slim and Large formats, usually 20 pouches to a can. Start with VELO, ZYN or Nordic Spirit if you are new, or head for Killa and Pablo if you already know you want extra strong. You can also browse by strength or by flavour. Adults 18+ only.

Refreshing and not too overpowering

A nice, refreshing spearmint flavour that isn’t too overpowering. Good balance and a pleasant taste overall.

A classic for a reason

Spearmint is a classic for a reason. Fresh, smooth and minty with a good flavour that lasts. Would definitely recommend trying it.

What Are Nicotine Pouches?

A nicotine pouch is a pre-portioned white pouch of plant-based cellulose fibre, nicotine salts, flavourings and moisture regulators. There is no tobacco leaf, dust or stem in any of them — which is why they are often called “white pouches” or “tobacco-free snus”. The pouch sits under your upper lip, the nicotine absorbs through the gum, and when it fades you drop the used pouch into the catch lid on top of the can. Nothing is burned, nothing is inhaled, and there is nothing to spit.

They have moved from niche to mainstream fast. ASH (Action on Smoking and Health) reports that awareness among UK adults climbed from 45% in 2023 to 62% in 2026, with use concentrated among men aged 18–39 who already smoke or vape. If you are wondering why half your five-a-side team suddenly carries a little white can, this is why smokers are switching.

Are Nicotine Pouches Legal in the UK?

Yes — nicotine pouches are fully legal to buy, sell and use in the UK. Because they contain no tobacco, they sit outside the Tobacco and Related Products Regulations 2016 and outside the UK’s long-standing ban on oral tobacco. The full snus vs nicotine pouches comparison explains what else that one ingredient changes. Snus — the Swedish tobacco product they are often confused with — is a different story: its sale has been banned in the UK since 1992. We explain the difference in plain English in Is Snus Legal in the UK? and What Is Snus?

The law is changing, and most pages you will read about it are out of date. Under the Tobacco and Vapes Act 2026, a statutory minimum age of sale of 18 for nicotine pouches begins on 29 October 2026 (we have always applied an 18+ rule and verify age on every order — the law is catching up), free samples are banned from the same date, and an advertising and sponsorship ban follows on 1 June 2027. A government consultation on packaging and flavour naming is open until October 2026. None of this bans pouches — it brings them into regulation. You can read the evidence base on the ASH nicotine pouches briefing. This section is correct as of 31 July 2026 and we update it whenever the law moves.

One point of constant confusion: when footballers, pundits and TikTok say “snus”, they almost always mean tobacco-free nicotine pouches — a 2024 PFA and Loughborough University study found around one in five professional footballers uses them, and most use pouches, not actual snus. If someone asks whether ZYN is snus, the short answer is no: ZYN vs snus, explained.

Which Brand Should You Start With?

New here? Our step-by-step guide to using nicotine pouches covers placement, timing and the spit question before you pick a brand. We stock every major UK brand, so we have no reason to push one over another. This is how they actually compare — including the things each brand’s own website will not tell you.

BrandKnown forFeelHonest take
ZYNThe name everyone knowsDry, slow release, no dripCleanest feel of any brand, subtle flavours; the priciest way to buy nicotine per mg
VELOThe UK’s most-searched pouch brandMoist, faster releaseHuge range and clear dot system; some flavours fade quicker than the strength does
Nordic SpiritThe smooth on-rampBalanced, gentle tingleThe easiest first pouch there is; heavier users will outgrow it
FUMiSwedish-made all-rounderSoft, comfortable fitUnderrated middle ground between mild and strong; less famous, often better value
77Flavour breadthMoist, medium bodySome of the most interesting flavours we stock; stick to medium strengths at first
KillaThe extra-strong benchmarkIntense, fast hitAround 12.8mg per pouch; genuinely strong — and genuinely faked, so only buy from authorised stock
PabloThe heavyweightHarsh, maximum strengthUp to roughly 30mg per pouch. Experienced users only — this is not a starting point
IcebergWild flavours, big strengthsVaries by lineFun catalogue from energy-drink to dessert flavours; check the mg per pouch before you order

If a friend asked us: ex-smokers usually settle on Nordic Spirit or VELO at 6–10mg; vapers tend to like ZYN because the dry format feels furthest from a vape; and nobody should touch Pablo in their first month. We also stock Cuba, CLEW, XQS, Rush, Maggie, Denssi, ELF and Pouch Nurdz — or see what everyone else is buying in our best sellers and newest arrivals.

Honest Answers About Side Effects

Nicotine pouches are not risk-free, and we would rather tell you that than let a Reddit thread do it. Nicotine is addictive whatever form it takes. New users commonly notice a tingling or light burning under the lip for the first few minutes (normal — it settles), and going too strong too soon can cause hiccups, nausea or dizziness — the classic beginner mistake is starting on an extra-strong pouch. Some users experience gum irritation; the practical fixes are rotating where you place the pouch, keeping sessions shorter and dropping a strength level. ASH notes pouches are likely to be less harmful than smoking, but not risk-free, and long-term evidence is still limited.

Worth knowing: Public Health England found that around 4 in 10 smokers wrongly believe nicotine itself causes most smoking-related cancer. It is the smoke and tar from burning tobacco that does the damage — which is precisely why smoke-free formats exist. Pouches featured in 6.5% of GB quit attempts in 2025 — more than prescription nicotine replacement therapy, per UCL’s Smoking Toolkit Study — but they are not a licensed stop-smoking product. If your goal is quitting nicotine entirely, the NHS quit smoking service is the right door.

Who should not use nicotine pouches: anyone under 18, anyone pregnant or breastfeeding, anyone with a heart condition or high blood pressure, and anyone who does not already use nicotine. We do not sell to under-18s, full stop.

What Pouch Users Actually Say

Before rewriting this page we read hundreds of pouch reviews and forum threads — r/nicotinepouches, Trustpilot, product reviews across the UK — so you do not have to. The pattern is remarkably consistent. The praise: the phrase that comes up again and again from ex-vapers is that pouches “saved” them from the vape; after that it is discretion (office, flights, matches, around the kids) and flavour staying power, which experienced users literally measure in minutes — 20 to 30 is considered normal, 40-plus exceptional.

The complaints are just as consistent, and they shape how we run this store. The number one reason people quit the category is gum soreness — almost always from parking the pouch in the same spot all day or running a strength too high (the fixes are in our side-effects section above). Second is overshooting strength on day one — the classic story is an ex-vaper going straight to extra strong and feeling awful, which is why our strength guide keeps telling you to start lower. Third is stale, dried-out cans from slow-moving stock, and fourth is counterfeit Killa and Pablo from social-media sellers. Those last two are exactly why we rotate stock fast, source from authorised distributors and replace any can that arrives below standard. And one thing the forums agree on that we will repeat: if you do not already use nicotine, pouches are not for you.

Multibuy, Bundles and Real Prices

Pouches get cheap when you stop buying single cans at the petrol station. A typical can holds around 20 pouches, so a £5 can works out at about 25p a pouch — and our multibuy pricing pulls the per-can rate down hard from there. Most regulars buy packs of 5 or packs of 10 of their staple flavour and try something new from the deals page each order. Every product card shows the per-can price at the deepest discount, so you can compare like for like.

Why Buy Nicotine Pouches From NicotineBuzz?

Three reasons, honestly held. Fresh stock: pouches lose moisture and flavour as they age, and a fast-rotating catalogue means the can you get has not spent a year in a warehouse. Genuine products: counterfeit Killa and Pablo are a real problem in the UK — we source from authorised distributors, and genuine NGP tins carry QR verification you can check yourself. We treat the rules seriously: age checks on every order before the law requires them, no marketing to non-nicotine users, and legal information on this page that is dated and kept current. We are a UK company — real address, real phone, WhatsApp support — and if a can arrives dry or damaged we replace it without a fight. Same-day dispatch, seven days a week.

Find Your Pouch Faster: Shop by Strength, Flavour or Format

Shop by Strength

Every strength tier, using mg per pouch (the number that actually matters): Low strength (1–5mg) · Regular strength (6–10mg) · Strong (11–15mg) · Extreme (16mg+) · all high-strength pouches (11mg+) · browse every strength

Shop by Flavour

Mint is the UK’s favourite by a distance — around six in ten pouches sold here are mint or menthol — but the fruit side of the catalogue is where the interesting things happen: Mint & menthol · Fruit · Citrus · Coffee · Candy & dessert · Fizzy · Floral & exotic · Spicy & herbal · browse every flavour. Undecided? Start with the 10 best flavours to try in 2026.

Formats: Mini, Slim and Large

Slim is the standard — discreet fit, steady release, what most cans in this collection are. Mini pouches are smaller and drier, ideal for first-timers or meetings where you want zero visibility. Large pouches carry more volume for longer sessions. If in doubt, buy Slim.

Dry vs moist: a difference almost nobody explains. Dry pouches (ZYN is the classic) release nicotine more slowly, keep longer in the can and barely drip — the most discreet feel. Moist pouches (VELO, Killa, most of the extra-strong world) hit faster with more flavour up front but fade sooner. Neither is better; pick by how quickly you want it to arrive.

How to use nicotine pouches in four steps — place the pouch between upper lip and gum, settle it, keep it in for 5 to 30 minutes, discard it in the can’s waste lid

How to Use Nicotine Pouches

Step 1 — Place: take one pouch and park it between your upper lip and gum, slightly off-centre.

Step 2 — Settle: roll your lip until it sits flat and comfortable. You will feel a tingle or light burn within a few minutes — that is the nicotine releasing, and it fades.

Step 3 — Wait: keep it in for 5–30 minutes. Longer does not mean stronger — most of the nicotine you are going to get has released within half an hour.

Step 4 — Done: lift the catch lid on top of the can and drop the used pouch in. No bins to hunt for, nothing to spit.

Yes, you can swallow your saliva normally while a pouch is in — with a strong pouch it may give you hiccups or a warm throat, which is your cue to go a strength down. Never swallow the pouch itself, and keep cans away from children and pets: nicotine is poisonous to both. Most regular users get through somewhere between five and ten pouches a day — we have written a straight answer on how many pouches per day is sensible, and a gentler beginner’s walkthrough if this is all new.

Nicotine pouch strength chart — Mild 1–5mg, Regular 6–10mg, Strong 11–15mg and Extreme 16mg+ per pouch, with NicotineBuzz dot ratings

Nicotine Pouch Strengths Explained (mg Per Pouch)

The chart above is the system we use across the whole store — dots on the can, mg per pouch underneath. Match it to your history, not your confidence:

  • Mild, 1–5mg (●): social smokers, the nicotine-curious, and anyone stepping down. Start here if you are not sure — you can always go up in your next order. Shop low strength.
  • Regular, 6–10mg (●●): the sweet spot for most ex-smokers of up to ten a day and most regular vapers. More than half our catalogue lives here. Shop regular strength.
  • Strong, 11–15mg (●●●): pack-a-day ex-smokers and experienced pouch users. A first-timer on a 15mg pouch will feel ill, not impressed. Shop strong.
  • Extreme, 16mg+ (●●●●●): Killa, Pablo and friends. For heavy, experienced users only — and honestly, plenty of them still split the difference with a Strong. Shop extreme.

The “50mg” Trap: mg Per Pouch vs mg Per Gram

The single most common mistake in this category — and almost no shop explains it. Some brands print nicotine per gram, not per pouch. Pablo’s famous “50mg” is 50mg per gram: at roughly 0.6g a pouch, that is about 30mg per pouch. Killa’s 16mg/g works out around 12.8mg per pouch. Meanwhile a ZYN or VELO label already shows mg per pouch. Always compare per pouch — it is the only number your gum cares about. Our product pages state the per-pouch figure for exactly this reason, and our guides to ZYN strengths and Pablo strengths decode the two systems brand by brand.
