Klint Snus and Klint Nicotine Pouches, Explained

Klint nicotine pouches are tobacco-free pouches made in Norsborg, just south of Stockholm, by Habit Factory in Sweden AB. Klint quotes nicotine per gram and rates every can with a row of six dots on the lid, so its figures need translating: 16mg per gram is 11.2mg in a slim pouch but only 6.4mg in a mini.

In the UK the brand is usually searched for as Klint snus, and we use that phrase too. Strictly it is the wrong word. Snus is ground tobacco, and its sale has been banned here since 1992; a Klint pouch holds plant fibre, nicotine, flavouring and water, nothing grown in a tobacco field. What sets Klint apart is less the strength than the writing of the flavours. Where many brands make a mint and call it done, Klint layers them: mint, then menthol, then a peppermint edge; cola, then lime, then a warm spice underneath. You notice it by the second pouch.

Klint Strength Decoded: Per Gram, Per Pouch and the Dots

Klint states nicotine in milligrams per gram of pouch. Multiply by the pouch weight to get the dose: 0.7 for a slim, 0.4 for a mini. Freeze Mint at 16mg per gram is 11.2mg a pouch; Blueberry, also 16mg per gram but a mini, is 6.4mg. The dots on the lid are Klint's own rating of the same thing.

This is why comparing Klint cans by their headline number goes wrong so easily. Several UK shops print the per-gram figure as if it were the dose, which makes a 6.4mg mini look as strong as an 11.2mg slim. We list per pouch, with Klint's per-gram figure alongside, and the table below uses the maker's own published specification for every can we sell.

Two quirks worth knowing. Apple Mint and Arctic Mint still appear on some older listings at 20mg per gram, about 14mg a pouch; Klint's current UK specification says 16.4, and that is what these cans carry. And the jump from 5 dots to 6 is the biggest on the scale: roughly 6mg more per pouch, not the gentle step the dots suggest.

What Do the Dots on a Klint Can Mean?

The six dots on a Klint lid are the brand's own strength rating: the more dots filled, the stronger the pouch. Klint's current UK range runs from one dot to five; Avalanche Mint was the only six. The dots rate the pouch you hold, so a mini and a slim at the same per-gram figure show different dot counts.

The dot row arrived with the 2026 redesign, which also moved Klint from white lids to full-colour cans and printed the pouch format (SLIM, MINI or LARGE) above the logo. Older cans used numbered circles and a coloured band reading STRONG, X-STRONG or ULTRA-STRONG. If your can looks different from the photos here, it is almost certainly the older design rather than a different product.

Slim, Mini and Large: Klint Pouch Formats

Klint makes three pouch sizes. The slim weighs 0.7g and is the standard format; the mini weighs 0.4g and suits anyone who wants something small and discreet; the large, 0.75g, is new for 2026. Every can holds 20 pouches whatever the format, so a mini can simply weighs less.

Format changes more than the dose. A mini sits higher and tighter under the lip and is easier to forget you are wearing, which is exactly why Klint puts its gentlest strengths in that shape. The trade-off is a shorter flavour window, because there is less material to release it. The slim is long and flat, spreads along the gum, and holds its flavour for most of a half-hour session. We stock five slims and one mini, the Blueberry; we do not currently carry the large format.

One practical point follows from this. Two cans can print the same per-gram figure and still deliver very different doses, because the pouch inside is a different size. Blueberry and Cola Lime are both 16mg per gram on Klint's own specification, yet one gives you 6.4mg a pouch and the other 11.2mg. If you remember only one thing from this page, make it that.

What Is Inside a Klint Pouch?

An all-white, plant-based filler, water to keep it soft, nicotine, and food-grade flavourings developed in Habit Factory's own laboratory. There is no tobacco leaf, which is why the pouch stays white in use instead of browning. The texture is soft and moderately moist, so the flavour comes through quickly without the pouch feeling wet or dripping. Klint describes its flavours in layers on its official UK site, and they taste that way: a mint that turns to menthol, a cola that finishes with spice. If your taste runs to single-note pouches, you may find Klint busier than you are used to; most people find that is the point of it.

The Klint Range We Stock

We list six Klint flavours: three mints of rising strength, a fruit mint, a cola and a blueberry mini. Each comes in one strength only, so picking a Klint means picking the flavour and the dose together.

Is Klint Avalanche Mint Discontinued?

Avalanche Mint is no longer on Klint's current UK range. It was the brand's only six-dot can, 25mg per gram and 17.5mg a pouch. We still list it while our supplier has stock, and when it runs out it will not be coming back.

If Avalanche is your pouch, the honest advice is to plan for life after it. Nothing else Klint makes today goes above 12.3mg a pouch, so the nearest strength match lives with other brands on our extra strong nicotine pouches shelf.

Klint Flavours We Don't Stock

Klint's current UK range is larger than ours. It includes low-strength minis (Salty Liquorice, Easy Mint, Strawberry, Watermelon, Spearmint and a 3.2mg Cola Lime), lighter slims (Mint, Breeze Mint, Polar Mint, Tropical Breeze) and new cans such as Crystal Mint and a large-portion Arctic Mint Max. Older favourites, including Pink Grapefruit, Passionfruit, Pomegranate and White Mulberry, are no longer on the official list at all, whatever older shop pages suggest. We list what we can reliably supply, and we would rather tell you that than show a grid of sold-out cans.

Which Klint Should You Buy?

Choose the strength first, then the flavour. Blueberry is the only gentle Klint we stock; Cola Lime, Freeze Mint, Apple Mint and Arctic Mint all sit around 11mg a pouch; Avalanche Mint is for daily users of strong pouches only.

• New to pouches but already using nicotine: Blueberry, at 6.4mg. Our low strength nicotine pouches have gentler options still.
• Used to 6 to 10mg pouches: Blueberry, then a four-dot Cola Lime or Freeze Mint when you want more.

Who Makes Klint?

Klint is made by Habit Factory in Sweden AB, which produces and packs its pouches in its own factory and laboratory at Norsborg, south of Stockholm. The company was set up by former snus users, and Klint, launched in March 2021, was its first brand.

Making everything in-house is the brand's main claim, and it shows in the consistency: the per-pouch figures Klint publishes match what its cans carry, which is more than can be said for some shop listings of the same products. Klint is sold in Sweden, the UK, Austria, Spain and Portugal. The name is Swedish, and so is the attitude to flavour: clean, layered and not especially sweet.

Klint Nicotine Pouches Review: Our Honest Take

Klint's strength is flavour: layered, natural-tasting and consistent from can to can, in a soft, moderately moist pouch. Its weaknesses are a one-strength-per-flavour range and labelling that forces you to do arithmetic. If you like a mint with some character at about 11mg, it is one of the better choices on the shelf.

We have no customer reviews for Klint yet, so this is our assessment rather than a star rating. Arctic Mint is the everyday pick, the one you could use all week without tiring of it. Freeze Mint is for people who want their teeth to feel it. Cola Lime is the surprise, better balanced than most cola pouches, which tend to taste of flat fizzy drink. Blueberry is pleasant and gentle, though the mini pouch gives a shorter flavour window. The main frustration is the range itself: fall in love with a flavour and you get exactly one strength of it.

Klint vs VELO, ZYN and White Fox

Klint sits in the same broad strength band as VELO and White Fox, a little above most ZYN, but with fewer strengths per flavour and more complex flavour writing. It is the pick for flavour; the others win on choice of dose.

How Klint Packs and Prices Work

Klint comes in packs of 10 cans of one flavour, and every Klint can in your basket counts towards the price per can. One pack is £3.69 a can; from 50 cans the rate falls to £3.30, about 16p a pouch.

Klint Downsides, and Who It Is Not For

Klint is not for anyone who wants one flavour at several strengths, not for people who want a very gentle pouch beyond the Blueberry mini, and its strongest can is on the way out. Stock of individual flavours can also be patchy.

• One strength per flavour. Love Freeze Mint but want less? You will need another brand.
• Arithmetic on the lid. Per-gram figures and dots, not milligrams per pouch. The table above does the sums.
• Avalanche is ending. Heavy users should not build a routine around it.
• Patchy availability. Individual Klint flavours come and go with supply; the grid shows today's picture.
• Packs of ten. If you only want to try one can, a single-can brand like VELO is a cheaper experiment.

How to Use a Klint Pouch

Place a pouch between your gum and upper lip and leave it for up to 30 to 40 minutes, as Klint suggests. When you are done, it goes in the top compartment of the lid until you reach a bin. No smoke, no spitting.

Is Klint Legal in the UK?

Yes. Klint contains no tobacco, so it is not caught by the UK ban on selling snus, and adults aged 18 and over can buy and use it. From 29 October 2026 the Tobacco and Vapes Act 2026 makes selling nicotine products to under-18s a criminal offence.

We check ages at checkout and sell to adults only. Pouches are outside the vaping products duty, which covers e-liquid, so it does not affect Klint prices. Nicotine is addictive, as Klint's own site says plainly; Klint is not for non-users, anyone under 18, or anyone pregnant or breastfeeding.
