SYX Snus and SYX Nicotine Pouches, Explained

SYX nicotine pouches are slim, all-white, tobacco-free pouches made in Teplice in the Czech Republic. Each can holds 20 pouches at 6mg, 12mg or 20mg of nicotine, and unlike many rivals SYX prints that figure per pouch, so the number on the lid is the dose you get.

Plenty of UK shoppers look for SYX snus, and we use the phrase too, because that is how pouches get talked about here. It is shorthand rather than a description. Snus is ground tobacco, banned from sale in Britain since 1992; a SYX pouch holds plant fibre, nicotine, flavouring and moisture. The appeal is straightforward: nine flavours, three honest strengths and one of the lowest prices per can in our range. SYX does not trade on Scandinavian heritage it does not have. It is a central European brand, sold at central European sense.

SYX Strengths: 6mg, 12mg and 20mg Per Pouch

SYX prints nicotine per pouch. A 6mg SYX holds about 5.6mg in each pouch, a 12mg about 11.5mg and a 20mg just under 20mg. There is no per-gram arithmetic to do, which makes SYX one of the easier brands to compare with VELO or ZYN.

The exact figures come from European spec sheets, which agree with one another: every SYX pouch weighs about 0.7g, and the concentrations are 8, roughly 16.4 and 28.5mg per gram. Multiply through and you land on 5.6, 11.5 and 19.95mg. The labels round those up, which is standard practice across the market.

One trap to avoid: some UK shops call the 12mg "Medium" or even the 6mg "Strong". The can itself is clear, and the milligrams settle any argument. Read the number, not the adjective.

Is SYX 20mg Too Strong?

For most people, yes. SYX 20mg puts just under 20mg of nicotine in each pouch, more than the strongest VELO, ZYN or Nordic Spirit we sell. It exists for daily users of strong pouches who find 12mg no longer does much, and it is never a first can.

Only two flavours come at 20mg here, SYX Tropical and SYX Icy Cola, and both sit on our extra strong nicotine pouches shelf. If you are curious rather than already a heavy user, both also come at 12mg, which tells you what the flavour is like without the jolt.

What Does a SYX Can Say?

The lid carries the SYX logo on a splash of graffiti-style colour, the flavour name, a rounded badge with the milligrams per pouch and a short bar gauge that fills further as the strength rises. Around the side you will find the strength word (Medium, Strong or Extra Strong), "Nicotine Pouches" and, on the rim, "Share your experience". Newer cans made for the Czech market look different, with a six-dot scale and a 7mg strength replacing the 6mg; the cans we sell are the 6, 12 and 20mg design.

The SYX Range We Stock

Which SYX Flavours Don't We Stock?

The official SYX line-up currently runs to thirteen flavours, including Apple Mint, Apple Sour, Forest Fruits, Salty Caramel and a 3mg Wintergreen, none of which we carry yet. Apple Kiwi, which we do stock, is an older flavour no longer shown on the brand's own site, so treat it as available while supplies last. We would rather list nine flavours we can send than thirteen we cannot.

SYX Mint, Fruit and Cola: How the Flavours Differ

SYX splits into three families. The mints run from soft Spearmint to icy Freeze, the fruits are sweet and mostly uncooled, and Icy Cola sits on its own with a menthol finish. Strength has more effect on how a pouch feels than flavour does, but flavour decides whether you reach for a second can.

The four mints are graded mostly by temperature. Spearmint is the gentlest, round and slightly sweet; Peppermint is brighter and cleaner; Cool Mint adds a noticeable chill; Freeze is the one that makes you breathe in sharply. At 12mg, a cold mint can also feel a touch stronger than a fruit pouch at the same strength, simply because menthol and nicotine both register as intensity on the gum.

The fruits take the opposite approach. Blueberry and Wild Cherry carry no added cooling, Apple Kiwi is crisp rather than cold, and Tropical is all pineapple and mango sweetness. If you are moving across from fruit e-liquids, this is the side of the range that will feel familiar. Icy Cola is the in-between option: sweet cola first, then enough menthol to stop it becoming sticky.

What Is Inside a SYX Pouch?

A plant-based white filler, water, nicotine, flavourings and sweetener, with no tobacco leaf, so the pouch stays white in use. The official SYX site says the nicotine is Swiss-made and the pouches are produced in Teplice. The pouch is slim, soft and moderately moist, which helps it sit flat and release flavour quickly without dripping.

Is SYX Good for Vapers?

It is one of the easier brands for vapers to move to, largely because of the fruit and cola flavours and the plain per-pouch labelling. A low-strength e-liquid user will usually be comfortable at 6mg; someone on 20mg nic salt all day tends to settle at 12mg. Give it a week before judging, because a pouch releases nicotine more gradually than a puff and the first few can feel underwhelming. That is exactly the moment people are tempted to jump to 20mg, and exactly the moment not to.

Which SYX Should You Buy?

Pick the strength first: 6mg if you are new to pouches or come from light vaping, 12mg if you smoked or already use pouches daily, 20mg only if 12mg no longer does anything for you. Then choose between mint, fruit and cola.

• New to pouches but already using nicotine: 6mg Peppermint, Spearmint, Blueberry, Wild Cherry or Tropical. Our low strength shelf has gentler options again.
• Coming from cigarettes: 12mg is the usual landing point. Peppermint or Cool Mint if you like it clean, Wild Cherry if you do not.
• Daily pouch user: any 12mg, with Freeze for the coldest session.

If you cannot decide between mint and fruit, split your first order. Two packs of different flavours count together for the price, so there is no penalty for hedging your bets. A pack of 6mg Peppermint and a pack of 12mg Wild Cherry is a sensible opening pair: one tells you whether the pouch format suits you, the other whether SYX's sweeter side does.

Who Makes SYX?

SYX is made in Teplice, in the north-west of the Czech Republic. The official SYX website names Danczek Teplice, a.s. as the company behind the brand and says the pouches are produced locally in Teplice using Swiss nicotine.

UK shops often credit Consumer Brands International, or CBI, a Czech company registered at the same address in Košťany u Teplic, which also lists the GOAT and DOPE pouch brands. The two names describe the same Teplice operation from different angles, and we have not found anything that sets one against the other. What matters for buyers is simpler: SYX is not Swedish, does not claim to be, and some UK listings that say otherwise are just wrong. The brand has no official UK shop or distributor.

The brand's own current slogan is that "the sixth sense has a name", a nod to the SYX name; the older cans we sell still carry "Share your experience" around the rim. Neither tells you much about the pouch, which is probably why the per-pouch number on the lid does most of the talking.

SYX Nicotine Pouches Review: Our Honest Take

SYX is a good-value, no-nonsense pouch: clearly labelled per pouch, pleasant flavours with a sweet streak, and a 20mg option most rivals do not offer. It is not the most refined pouch you can buy, and the fruit flavours lean sweet, but for the price it is hard to fault.

We have no customer reviews for SYX yet, so this is our assessment rather than a rating. The mints are the safest bets; Freeze in particular is properly cold. Of the fruits, Wild Cherry is the most rounded and Tropical the most versatile, thanks to its three strengths. Icy Cola is better than most cola pouches, which often taste like a flat drink left in a car; the menthol keeps it lively. The pouches are soft, slim and sit flat, and flavour lasts a respectable half hour or so.

Where SYX falls short is depth. Next to a brand like Klint, the flavours are simpler and sweeter, and the range changes as the brand redesigns for its home market. You buy SYX for honest labelling and value, not for nuance.

SYX vs VELO, ZYN, UBBS and Edge

SYX matches VELO and ZYN on labelling (both print per pouch too), goes stronger than either at 20mg, and undercuts most of the market on price per can. UBBS and Edge are its nearest rivals among our newer brands.

How SYX Packs and Prices Work

SYX comes in packs of 10 cans of one flavour and strength, and every SYX can in your basket counts towards the price per can. One pack is £2.99 a can; from 50 cans the rate falls to £2.65, about 13p a pouch.

Mix freely: a pack of Peppermint and a pack of Tropical count as twenty cans. Standard delivery is free on orders over £17.45 and £2.95 below that; next day delivery is £4.99 if you order before 3pm, Monday to Friday. The shipping policy has the detail.

Why is SYX cheaper than the big supermarket names? Mostly because it is a smaller, independent brand without the marketing budgets of the multinationals, and because it is made and packed in one Czech facility rather than shipped through several. The pouch count and the strength are the same as you would expect elsewhere, 20 pouches to the can, so the saving is genuine rather than a smaller can at a smaller price. At the top rung, the cost per pouch is lower than almost anything else we sell, which is why SYX tends to appeal to people who get through a can or more a day.

SYX Downsides, and Who It Is Not For

SYX is not for anyone after subtle, complex flavours, not for people who only want to try a single can, and its 20mg is not for anyone below a daily 12mg habit. The range is also shifting as the brand redesigns.

• Sweet-leaning fruit. If you dislike sweetness, stick to Peppermint or Freeze.
• Fewer strengths per flavour. Cool Mint, Freeze and Apple Kiwi come at 12mg only.
• A moving range. New Czech cans use different strengths; our listings show what we can actually send.
• Packs, not singles. Ten cans is a commitment; try a mixed pair of packs rather than one flavour you are unsure of.
• 20mg is serious. Treat it with the respect the Extra Strong label asks for, and never as a challenge or a way to make a cheap can go further.

How to Use a SYX Pouch

Place a pouch between your upper lip and gum and leave it there for around 20 to 40 minutes, then throw it away. No chewing, no spitting and nothing to light.

A tingle in the first few minutes is normal, sharper at 12mg and very noticeable at 20mg. If you feel dizzy or queasy, take the pouch out and choose a lower strength next time. Are SYX Nicotine Pouches Legal in the UK?

Yes. SYX contains no tobacco, so it is legal to buy and use in the UK at 18 or over, unlike tobacco snus. From 29 October 2026 the Tobacco and Vapes Act 2026 makes selling any nicotine product to under-18s a criminal offence.
