ELF Nicotine Pouches and ELF Bar Snus, Explained

ELF nicotine pouches are slim, white, tobacco-free pouches from the pouch brand launched under the Elf Bar name at Vaper Expo UK in Birmingham in October 2024. The range is built around soda flavours, the lid prints the nicotine per pouch rather than per gram, and a row of six dots shows the strength at a glance: 12mg Medium is four dots and 20mg X-Strong is all six.

Most people search for them as ELF snus or ELF Bar snus, and we use those phrases too, because that is how the product is talked about. Strictly, snus contains ground tobacco and ELF contains none: the pouch holds plant fibre, nicotine, flavourings and moisture, nothing that has been anywhere near a tobacco leaf. ELF Strengths: 6mg Mellow, 12mg Medium and 20mg X-Strong

The number on an ELF lid is milligrams of nicotine per pouch. A 12mg ELF puts 12mg in each pouch, and a 20mg ELF puts 20mg. There is nothing to convert, which is the opposite of Pablo, Killa, Iceberg and Maggie, whose big numbers are milligrams per gram.

The brand names its three rungs in its own words: Mellow for 6mg, Medium for 12mg and X-Strong for 20mg. Those words are printed on the side wall of the can next to the dot row, while the lid carries the milligrams. So if you searched for ELF strong mg, ELF x strong mg or ELF extra strong mg, the answer is 20mg a pouch, and the "medium" ELF is 12mg.

Put those in context. A 12mg ELF sits just above an 11mg ZYN or a four-dot VELO, which is a proper everyday strength for someone who used to smoke. A 20mg ELF is stronger than anything VELO, ZYN or Nordic Spirit sell, all of which stop at 17mg or below, and stops well short of a 30mg Pablo Exclusive. The brand does not publish a pouch weight, so there is no official mg per gram figure, and any page quoting one is working it out, not reading the can.

One practical point: ELF's dot ladder does not line up with anyone else's. Four dots means 12mg on ELF, 11mg on ZYN and something different again on VELO. Compare the milligrams, never the dots.

X-Strong or Extra Strong? The 2026 Can Explained

They are the same 20mg pouch. The original can prints X-STRONG on its side wall; the redesigned 2026 can, marked with a "New" badge, prints a red EXTRA STRONG band across the lid and moves the six dots to the top. The brand's UK shop uses Extra-Strong in its listings, while the brand's main site still says X-Strong, so both words are official and both mean 20mg.

Where it gets muddled is the retailer labels. Some shops invent their own scale for ELF, calling the 6mg Normal, the 12mg Extra Strong and the 20mg Ultra Strong. Others say Light, Strong and Extra Strong, and at least one labels the same 12mg both Medium and High on a single page. None of that comes from the can. If a listing and the lid disagree, trust the milligrams on the lid.

The redesign also changed how the 6mg is described on the side, where it now reads MELLOW next to its two dots. You may see both can designs in circulation for a while; the pouches inside are the same product at the same strength.

Every ELF Flavour: Max Polar Mint, Grape Ice, Pineapple and the Rest

ELF describes its range as "Soda Fizzed", and it shows: four of the six flavours we list are fruit sodas, and the two mints are built to taste cold and faintly fizzy rather than like toothpaste. Every flavour below is listed in 12mg and 20mg, so Grape Ice snus, Pineapple snus, Max Polar Mint snus and Cool Storm snus each have their own page with both strengths on it.

Two name clashes are worth knowing about. VELO used to sell a Polar Mint and a Cool Storm too, and both were renamed in 2024 (to Bright Spearmint and Peppermint Storm). The ELF cans are unrelated products that happen to share the words, so check the brand on the lid before you reorder.

The range is moving. In 2026 the brand's official UK shop stopped listing Cool Storm and Fantasy Orange and added two new flavours, Matcha Latte and Energy Bull, each in 6mg, 12mg and 20mg. The brand's main site still shows the original six and has published no discontinuation notice, and our supplier still lists Cool Storm. We do not stock Matcha Latte or Energy Bull yet because our supplier does not carry them; we will not list a can we cannot send you.

Against the rest of the catalogue, Max Polar Mint and Cool Storm sit with our mint nicotine pouches, and Grape Ice, Blueberry Raspberry and Pineapple with the fruit flavours and the fizzy flavour pouches.

ELF vs TACJA: Elf Bar's Two Pouch Brands

TACJA was Elf Bar's first nicotine pouch brand in the UK; ELF replaced it. They are different products, not a rename, and the easiest way to tell them apart is the label: TACJA printed milligrams per gram, ELF prints milligrams per pouch.

Trade press covering the Birmingham launch in October 2024 reported that TACJA's UK sales had been disappointing and that ELF was the replacement, with a new design. TACJA cans were sold at 12, 18 and 20mg per gram, which retailers put at roughly 6, 9 and 11mg a pouch, in flavours such as Watermelon, Spearmint and Cherry Ice. So a TACJA 20 and an ELF 20 are not the same strength: the ELF is close to double.

If you liked TACJA and want something similar in strength, the 12mg ELF Medium is the nearest step up, and it is a step, not a like-for-like swap. We do not sell TACJA.

Who Makes ELF Pouches, and Where

ELF was launched by the Elf Bar camp, the vape brand made by Shenzhen iMiracle Technology, but neither of the brand's own websites names the company behind the pouches, and neither says where they are made. We would rather tell you that than guess.

Here is what is on the record. The brand's site, elfpouches.com, describes ELF as "Designed in Sweden" and "Born in the heart of Scandinavia". That is a statement about design, not a country of manufacture, and a few retailers who say ELF is made in Sweden appear to be repeating a claim once made about TACJA. The official UK shop, elfpouches.co.uk, is run by Galaxy Connect Limited, a distributor registered in Harrow, which also runs promotions for Elf Bar products. The trade press that covered the launch tied ELF to ELFBAR directly.

A fair question from anyone who remembers the headlines: in 2023 some Elf Bar 600 disposables were found to hold more than the 2ml of e-liquid UK rules allow, and the company withdrew them after meeting the regulator. That was about vape tank size, not nicotine pouches, and we found no regulatory action of any kind involving ELF pouches.

ELF Nicotine Pouches Review: Our Honest Verdict

Nobody has reviewed ELF on this site yet, so there are no stars on this page and we have not invented any. When customers leave them, real ratings will show on the flavour pages. What follows is our own assessment from handling the range, and what the brand itself says.

The flavours are the point of ELF, and they are good at what they set out to do. Grape Ice and Blueberry Raspberry taste like the sodas they are named after, sweet and fairly loud, and Max Polar Mint is a genuinely cold mint that holds up at 20mg. The pouch is slim and soft and sits comfortably, and because it is semi-moist rather than wet, it does not run the way some high-strength pouches do. The per-pouch labelling with a dot row is the clearest system in the strong end of the market.

The weaknesses are worth stating plainly. The range is small, six flavours here, and in flux: two of them have left the official UK shop and two new ones have arrived that we cannot yet get. There is no gentle entry point in our stock, because the 6mg Mellow is unavailable, which leaves a jump from nothing to 12mg. The brand is vague about who makes it and where. And the brand's claims about how long a pouch lasts disagree with each other: its main site says up to an hour, its UK shop says the nicotine release lasts up to 30 minutes. In our experience the second is closer.

So, are ELF nicotine pouches good? For someone who already uses nicotine and wants sweet, soda-style flavours at a solid everyday or strong dose, yes. For a first ever pouch, no, and we say why below.

Switching From Vaping to ELF Pouches

A lot of people find ELF because they know the Elf Bar name from vaping, and the flavours will feel familiar. The delivery will not: a pouch releases nicotine slowly through the gum over twenty minutes or so, rather than in a quick hit from each puff.

That difference catches people out in both directions. Some find the first pouch underwhelming for five minutes and reach for a second one, which is how you end up dizzy. Others go straight to the 20mg because 20mg is the number on their old e-liquid, but a 20mg nic salt figure is milligrams per millilitre of liquid and a 20mg pouch is 20mg in one pouch. They are not the same dose, and the pouch is the heavier one.

If you vaped a 20mg nic salt disposable most of the day, start on the 12mg Medium, give it a week, and only then decide whether you need the 20mg. If you vaped lower strengths, the right ELF is the 6mg Mellow, which we cannot currently stock, so a 6mg ZYN or anything on our low-strength shelf is the better start. How to Use an ELF Pouch

Each can holds 20 slim pouches. Open the lid, take one out and tuck it between your top lip and gum, a little off-centre. Leave it there and do not chew it. A tingle within a minute or two is normal and settles; on the 20mg it is considerably more than a tingle. Most of the nicotine is released within about half an hour, and plenty of people keep the pouch in longer for the flavour.

Put used pouches in the compartment in the top of the lid, which is what it is there for, and bin them later. Move the pouch to a different spot each time, because leaving it in the same place day after day is what irritates the gum. Who ELF Suits, and When to Buy Something Else

Buy ELF if you like sweet, soda-style flavours and already use nicotine at a decent strength: the 12mg Medium is a comfortable everyday pouch for a former pack-a-day smoker, and the 20mg X-Strong is a real step up for daily pouch users who find 17mg cans polite. Buy it if you want a clear label, because ELF's per-pouch figure and dot row are hard to misread.

Buy something else if you are new to pouches. With no 6mg in stock, the gentlest ELF we can send you is 12mg, and that is too much for a first can. A 3mg or 6mg ZYN or a two-dot VELO is a far better start. Buy something else if you want variety, because six flavours, two of them leaving the brand's UK shop, is a small range next to VELO or Killa. ELF Pouches and UK Law in 2026

Tobacco-free nicotine pouches are legal to buy, own and use anywhere in the UK. They contain no tobacco leaf, so the 1992 ban on oral tobacco that covers snus does not apply to them. We sell to adults aged 18 and over only and check age on every order.

The Tobacco and Vapes Act 2026 received Royal Assent on 29 April 2026 and brings nicotine pouches into law as nicotine products. From 29 October 2026 selling them to anyone under 18 is a criminal offence, and giving them away free is banned too, which will end the free trial packs some brands currently hand out. The Act also gives the government powers to restrict flavours, packaging and advertising later. None of it makes the pouches on this page unlawful to own or use.
