Clew nicotine pouches are slim, moist, tobacco-free pouches designed and formulated in the USA by Nevcore Innovations, manufactured in India, and sold in the UK by the brand's own Cheshire company in eight flavours and four strengths: 5, 10, 15 and 20mg of nicotine per pouch, printed on the front of every can. Clew snus is simply what a lot of people call them. One pouch sits under your top lip for up to 45 minutes, and nothing is lit, inhaled or spat.

Clew went on sale in the UK in November 2024, which makes it the youngest mainstream-strength brand we sell, and it has the tidiest strength system of the lot. Where Killa, Pablo and Iceberg print a number per gram and leave you to do the sums, and VELO and Nordic Spirit print words and dots, Clew prints the actual milligrams in each pouch on the lid, then adds a six-dot row for good measure. The catch, and the reason this page exists, is that the dots do not go up one per rung. Half the searches that bring people here are some version of "clew cool mint normal extra", "clew menthol extra" or "clew strengths", and the honest answer is a table and a finder, both below.

Strictly, none of it is snus. Snus is a Swedish tobacco product, banned from sale in the UK since 1992, whereas Clew contains no tobacco leaf at all, which is exactly what lets it sit legally on a British shelf. People still search for Clew snus almost as often as for Clew nicotine pouches, our listings call them Clew nic pouches, and the brand itself writes it CLEW in capitals, so all of those names appear on this page. Clew comes in four strengths and prints the figure per pouch on the front of the can: 5mg, 10mg, 15mg and 20mg. The pouch weighs 0.7g, so per gram those are about 7, 14, 21 and 29mg/g if you want to compare with a Killa or a Pablo. The six-dot row on the lid fills to 2, 4, 5 and 6 dots respectively, which is not one dot per rung and trips people up.

The fourth column deserves a word. Our product listings use one dot scale across every brand we sell, and on that scale a Clew 5mg gets one dot, a 10mg two, a 15mg three and a 20mg four, with the last two both labelled High. Those are our dots, not Clew's. The dots printed on the lid are the ones in the second column, and the finder below shows those. Two more things muddy the water, and neither is Clew's fault. First, the cans changed. The first UK cans, with "Premium Grade" on the rim, printed a four-dot row that did go up one dot per rung, which is why most UK shop pages still show a one-to-four dot table; the current cans, with "20 Pouches" on the rim, print the six-dot row above. Second, the words. If you have searched for clew cool mint normal, clew menthol extra or clew blueberry extra strong, you have picked up Haypp's and Northerner's house labels: on those two sites "Normal" is the 5mg can and "Extra Strong" is the 10mg can, because 5mg and 10mg are the only two rungs they stock. Clew itself prints no strength word at all, just the milligrams, and neither do we. Normal is 5mg, Extra Strong is 10mg, and the 15mg and 20mg cans exist and are here.

The ladder is even, which is rarer than it sounds. Each rung is 5mg above the last, so 10mg is double 5mg and 20mg is double 10mg, and the jumps feel like it. A first-time Clew buyer who already uses nicotine belongs on 5mg or 10mg; 15mg is for an established pouch habit; 20mg is the top of the range and double the everyday can, and the finder will not suggest it to anyone who is not already there. If you came from a can marked per gram, the conversion matters: a Killa marked 16 is about 13mg a pouch, so the like-for-like Clew is the 15mg, not the 20mg the bigger number suggests.

Two numbers you will read about elsewhere are not on sale here. Clew's US range runs 3, 6, 9, 12 and 15mg on a smaller 0.5g pouch with a five-dot lid, which is why an American review quotes figures that match nothing in this shop, and the brand's own UK site lists a 2.5mg Cherry Cola as coming soon. Neither has reached us. The finder reads live stock, so a struck-through can means we cannot get it today.

Where to Start

• First Clew: Cool Mint at 5mg or 10mg. It is the brand's best-seller, the flavour most people search for, and the cleanest mint in the range. Spearmint if you find cool mints too sharp.
• Cold to colder: Spearmint is the soft one, Cool Mint the crisp one, Menthol the icy one, and Wintergreen the American one, herbal and lightly sweet, which almost nobody else sells in the UK.
• Fruit: Blueberry is the sweetest and the most searched, Watermelon is the summer can, and Citrus is sharp lemon and lime rather than orange squash.
• The odd one out: Coffee, roasted and a little bitter, and one of the few coffee pouches sold in this country. Buy one pack, not three, until you know.
• Strength on a first order: 5mg if you smoke fewer than ten a day or vape low-strength liquid, 10mg for most other adult nicotine users, 15mg only if you already use a strong pouch, 20mg only if a 15mg feels thin after a week. The finder above does the sums.

Who Makes Clew? Designed in the USA, Made in India, Sold from Cheshire

Clew is designed and formulated by Nevcore Innovations Inc., a company registered in Kent, Delaware, which is the line printed on the back of every can. The pouches themselves are manufactured by VCherish Labs Private Limited in India, and the UK business is VCherish Innovations Ltd, trading as CLEW Pouches, a company registered in Dukinfield, Cheshire, that imports the cans and sells them direct at clewpouches.co.uk. So Clew is an American formulation, made in India, sold in Britain by a British company, and no single one of those is the whole story.

That matters because most UK pages, ours included until this rewrite, say simply that Clew is made in the USA, and the can does not say that. It says "Designed & Formulated by Nevcore Innovations Inc. USA", which is a different claim, and the American cans carry "Product of India" on the base, as the US reviewers who have turned one over confirm. The manufacturer's UK distributor lists VCherish Labs as the maker, the UK importer shares the VCherish name, and the same company registered here in January 2022 under an earlier name before renaming itself in August 2024 as the brand grew. None of that is a mark against the pouch; some very good pouches are made in India, and the quality control claims (a GMP-certified facility, batch testing) are on the can. It is just worth knowing what you are buying, and the honest version is on the can.

Clew launched in the US in mid-2024 and went on sale in the UK that November, and it has pushed hard on awards: the brand's site says it took Best Nicotine Pouch at the Inter Tabac trade fair in Dortmund in 2024 and a run of Vapouround awards, and in the US the FDA accepted its premarket application for review in June 2024, which is a filing, not an authorisation. The pouch is a slim white with a plant-fibre filler, water, sweeteners, nicotine, acidity regulators, table salt, emulsifiers, an antioxidant and flavourings, all listed on the base of the can, and it is sold moist, which is why the can also says to keep it in the fridge for the best taste. We do not, and neither will your pocket, but a can that has sat in a hot car for a week will taste of it.

Our Honest Clew Review

Clew is a good, uncomplicated mainstream pouch with the clearest strength labelling of any brand we sell and a small flavour list that does the basics well. If you want an honest 5, 10, 15 or 20mg printed on the lid, a soft moist pouch and a coffee or wintergreen you cannot get elsewhere, it is worth a pack. If you want a big flavour list, a single can to try, or anything above 20mg, it is not the range. Nobody has reviewed a Clew with us yet, so what follows is our own view, not customer stars.

• Flavour: Clean rather than clever, and on the sweet side. Cool Mint and Spearmint are the strong suits, Menthol is properly cold, and Coffee is the one people either love or leave. The fruits are pleasant and slightly candied, which is the house style for pouches designed with the US market in mind.
• Strength honesty: The best in the shop. The number on the can is the dose in the pouch, the pouch weight is printed on the back, and the four rungs are evenly spaced. The only wrinkle is the dot row, which fills 2, 4, 5, 6 rather than 1, 2, 3, 4, and the table above fixes that.
• Delivery: Quick for a mainstream pouch. It is a moist pouch, so the nicotine starts inside a minute or two and the flavour peaks early; a 20mg arrives with real intent. Most of the flavour is gone by half an hour, and the brand's own 45 minutes is optimistic.
• Feel: Slim, soft and moist. Comfortable under the lip with almost no drip, which is the thing the brand gets most right. It runs wetter than a ZYN or a VELO, so expect the pouch to feel a little heavier.
• Against it: Eight flavours, when VELO has three times that. Packs of 10 only here, so no single-can sampling. A newer brand with fewer UK reviews than the big names, and the marketing leans hard on awards and on a USA label that only half applies. And no reviews here yet, which we would rather say than fake.

Other reviewers land close by. Haypp's testers scored it 3.9 out of 5 and praised the flavour range and mouthfeel while marking it down for strength, which is fair on their site, since they only stock the 5mg and 10mg cans. Northerner's UK panel liked the moist format and put it level with Nordic Spirit on feel. The US reviewer Snubie, testing the 3 to 15mg American cans in August 2025, called them "about average" and found them sweet. Vape Club carries about thirty customer reviews and the brand's own site a handful, and none of those are ours. How to Use a Clew Pouch

Tuck one pouch between your upper lip and gum, leave it for twenty to forty minutes without chewing, then bin it. A tingle in the first minute is the nicotine at work, not a fault; on a 20mg it is a proper sting for the first five, and taking it out early is the correct response, not a failure.

Twist the lid, take one pouch and park it slightly off-centre. Clew is a moist pouch, so there is nothing to wet or wait for; the flavour arrives at once. Take it out whenever the flavour fades or the head goes light; there is no prize for lasting the full forty-five minutes the can promises, and with a 15mg or 20mg the first one is better at fifteen. Who Clew Suits, and When to Buy Something Else

Clew nicotine pouches suit adult nicotine users who want a clearly labelled mainstream strength, a soft moist pouch and a mint, fruit or coffee that is not trying to be clever. Skip it here if you want a single can, if you want a big flavour list, if you need anything above 20mg, or if the strength you are after is waiting on the supplier.

• No single cans. We sell Clew only in packs of 10 cans of one flavour and strength, so trying Coffee means owning ten of them. Our VELO and Nordic Spirit ranges do come as single cans, if you want to test a flavour first.
• A short flavour list. Eight flavours, four of them mint. If you want tea, cola, liquorice or a dozen fruits, 77 and VELO have the range.

Clew vs VELO, ZYN, Nordic Spirit and 77

Per pouch, Clew's 5mg matches a ZYN 6 or a two-dot VELO, its 10mg matches a four-dot VELO or a Nordic Spirit Strong, its 15mg matches a five-dot VELO or a Killa, and its 20mg matches a 77 Ghost Mini and sits above everything VELO, ZYN and Nordic Spirit sell in the UK. On strength labelling Clew is the clearest of the five; on flavour range, single cans and reviews, the big names beat it here.

VELO is the comparison people make most, and the honest difference is choice: VELO has more than twenty flavours in single cans and prints words and dots; Clew has eight in packs and prints the number. ZYN is a drier, slimmer pouch that stops at 13.5mg here, so a ZYN user moving to Clew should think 5mg or 10mg, not 15mg. Nordic Spirit is the closest in feel, another moist slim pouch, and its Strong sits level with a Clew 10mg. 77 is the other brand that prints per pouch and runs a six-dot lid, and its 20mg mini is the only mainstream can that matches a Clew 20mg. Clew and UK Law in 2026

Clew nicotine pouches are legal to buy and use in the UK if you are 18 or over, and there is no legal cap on strength. Under the Tobacco and Vapes Act 2026, selling nicotine pouches to anyone under 18 becomes a criminal offence from 29 October 2026, and an advertising ban follows on 1 June 2027. The Vaping Products Duty that starts on 1 October 2026 covers e-liquid, not pouches.

Clew's UK cans carry the UK warning, a full ingredients list and a batch number on the base, and come through a UK-registered importer rather than a grey channel, which is more than can be said for some of the strong brands. The Trading Standards seizures you may have read about involved pouches with foreign-language or missing warnings, not a strength limit. Buy from a shop that says where its stock comes from, and be suspicious of any Clew listing that quotes 3, 6, 9 or 12mg, because those are the American cans.
