Velo - Watermelon Ice | 10 Cans Product Description
VELO Watermelon Ice: Sweet Melon With a Frosted Finish
VELO Watermelon Ice is a slim, tobacco-free nicotine pouch that puts juicy watermelon under a layer of frosted menthol, and we stock it in one strength: 10mg, twenty pouches a can. It is the straightforward watermelon in VELO's line-up, which matters because there are two of them and people routinely order the wrong one.
Availability is the first thing to be straight about. VELO's own UK shop no longer lists this flavour, and its product page there returns a not-found. Mainstream UK retailers still carry it at the usual single-can price, and we have stock, so treat this as available while it lasts rather than as part of VELO's current official range. Nothing about the pouch has changed; it simply is not on the brand's own shelf any more.
Our pack is 10 cans for £34.99, which is £3.50 a can against the £6.50 a single normally costs. For a flavour with an uncertain future, buying a run of it at that price is not the worst instinct.
The Two VELO Watermelons, and Which One You Are Looking At
This is the confusion worth clearing up before anything else. VELO sells Watermelon Ice and Wintry Watermelon, and they are not the same can.
Wintry Watermelon is the one VELO still lists officially. It was called Watermelon Mint before the January 2024 rebrand, to the point that VELO's own product page still carries the old name in its page title, and it runs 10mg, 14mg and 17mg. It is the heavier, colder, stronger interpretation.
Watermelon Ice is the everyday one. Single strength at 10mg, a frosted rather than glacial finish, and a fruit-first balance. If you want watermelon as a flavour you can wear through a working day, this is that can. If you want watermelon as a delivery mechanism for 17mg of nicotine, you want the other one.
The naming does you no favours, since Ice and Wintry both promise cold, and neither name tells you the strength. Ordering by dot count is the reliable method: three dots here, up to six on the other.

What It Tastes Like Across a Session
Sweet melon lands first and stays the dominant note. It is the clean, watery sweetness of fresh watermelon rather than the sugared, slightly artificial melon you get in confectionery, and it is one of the more convincing fruit impressions in the VELO range.
The frost sits over the top. Menthol here is a finish rather than an event: enough to keep the sweetness from turning sickly across a long session, nowhere near enough to make your eyes water. Watermelon and cold are a natural pairing anyway, since the fruit already reads as refreshing, so the cooling amplifies what is there rather than adding something foreign.
Reckon on roughly 30 minutes of proper flavour, with the usual VELO shape: a quick burst as the moist pouch gets going, a good stretch in the middle, then a fade where the cool outlasts the fruit. The pouch itself is soft under the lip and low on drip.
Watermelon is also a flavour that gets faked badly more often than most, which is worth saying because it shapes expectations. The bad versions taste of boiled sweets and a vague green note, the kind of thing that appears in cheap chewing gum. This is not that. It is recognisably the fruit, slightly restrained rather than exaggerated, and it is one of the reasons the can holds up over a full session instead of wearing you down by the third pouch of the day.
Honest limitations. Watermelon is a delicate flavour and it is the first thing to disappear as a pouch tires, so the last ten minutes are noticeably thinner than the first ten. Some VELO cans carry a mild salty note in the drip, a long-running criticism of the brand, and a sweet-fruit flavour shows it up more than a mint would. And at 10mg there is nothing here for a heavy user, whatever the ice on the label suggests.
One Strength, Three Dots
Short ladder, and no decisions to make. Watermelon Ice comes in a single strength in a single format.
| Strength | Dots | VELO tier | Format | Concentration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10mg | 3 dots | Original | Slim, 20 per can, around 0.7g each | Roughly 14mg per gram |
Three dots is the rung that cannot be read at a glance across the range. Here it means 10mg. On Lime Flame the same three dots mean 8mg, because the gauge marks VELO's Original tier band rather than a fixed number. The milligram figure is printed on the lid, and that is the one to trust when you are holding two unfamiliar cans in a shop.
Ten milligrams is a medium strength: comfortable for anyone with an established habit, a bit much for a first-ever pouch. There is no 14mg or 17mg Watermelon Ice. If you want watermelon at the top of the ladder, Wintry Watermelon reaches 17mg, and everything else at that end lives in the high strength pouch collection.

Still Sold, No Longer Listed, and What Is Inside
Worth repeating plainly because it affects whether you buy one can or ten: VELO does not currently list Watermelon Ice on its UK site, while UK retailers including the large mainstream ones still stock it. Flavours leave the official range for ordinary commercial reasons, and existing stock continues to sell through afterwards. We are not going to pretend to know whether it returns.
There is a practical upside for you and a practical downside. The upside is that a delisted flavour tends to get discounted rather than protected, which is part of why our per-can price on this one looks the way it does. The downside is obvious: if you build a routine around a can that is no longer on the maker's own list, you may have to change flavour at some point. Anyone in that position should note that Wintry Watermelon is the closest continuing option, and its 10mg sits in the same place on the ladder as this one.
None of this affects the product itself. It is manufactured on the same lines as the rest of the UK range, packed to the same 20-pouch slim spec, and the batch code on the base tells you which of VELO's three European plants it came from.

Tobacco-free means no tobacco leaf. The nicotine itself is pharmaceutical grade and derived from tobacco plants, which is not the same thing as synthetic nicotine, and VELO's UK cans do not use the synthetic kind. The wider story of how the brand got from Swedish all-white pouches to colour-coded cans is in our complete guide to VELO nicotine pouches.
Watermelon Ice Beside the Rest of Our VELO Ice Cans
The ice family all share the same build: one fruit, one cooling layer, 10mg in the slim. What changes is the fruit and how hard the cold pushes.
| Flavour | Strengths here | Character | Better if |
|---|---|---|---|
| Watermelon Ice | 10mg | Fresh melon, frosted finish | You want watermelon at an everyday strength |
| Wintry Watermelon | 10, 14, 17mg | Same fruit, colder, climbs to 17mg | You want watermelon with real nicotine strength |
| Strawberry Ice | 10mg | Sweeter, softer berry | You want the mildest can in the family |
| Cherry Ice | 10mg | Deeper fruit with a citrus edge | You want more definition in the fruit |
| Tropical Ice | 10mg | Mixed tropical fruit, cold finish | You prefer a blend to a single fruit |
Against Strawberry Ice, the closest thing to a like-for-like, Watermelon Ice is the fresher and less sugary of the two while Strawberry is the softer. Against Wintry Watermelon it is simply the lighter version of the same idea. Our ranked VELO flavour guide covers where each lands, the full brand line-up is in the VELO pouch collection, and watermelon from other brands sits in the fruit flavour collection.
When to Choose Something Else
Skip it if you need more than 10mg. There is one strength here and no route upward within the flavour, so a heavy user is better off starting at Wintry Watermelon and saving themselves a step.
Skip it if you want a serious freeze, because the menthol here is a finish rather than a headline act and a peppermint can will do that job properly. Skip it if delicate fruit flavours frustrate you, since watermelon is among the first things to fade as a pouch runs down. And think twice if you specifically want a flavour you can reorder for years, given it is no longer on VELO's own list.
Newcomers should also be careful with a ten-can commitment at 10mg. It is a manageable strength rather than a gentle one, and pacing matters more than the number does. Our note on how many nicotine pouches a day is sensible is the better first read.
Using It, and What a Can Costs
One pouch under the upper lip, flat against the gum, settled with your tongue. Do not chew it. A tingle within the first five to ten minutes is the nicotine absorbing and it fades on its own. Thirty minutes is a realistic session, one pouch at a time, and the used one goes into the compartment moulded into the lid rather than anywhere else.
On price, a single can of VELO normally runs to £6.50. Our pack is 10 cans for £34.99, which is £3.50 a can and around 17p a pouch, dropping to £3.25 a can on two or more packs mixed across any brands we stock. Since VELO no longer lists this flavour itself, there is no official product page left to link for it; the nearest official reference is the Wintry Watermelon listing on velo.com. NicotineBuzz sells to over-18s only and verifies age at checkout.
