Product Description

Fumi Fiery Mint: Hot and Cold in the Same Pouch

Fumi Fiery Mint is the oddest of the three flavours in Fumi's new Fiery range, and the one people will argue about. It puts a cool, clean mint and a chilli warmth in the same slim pouch and lets them run at each other. The result is a sensation most pouch users have never had: menthol tingle and capsaicin glow arriving together on the same patch of gum. Tobacco-free, all-white, in 8mg Strong or 15mg Ultra Strong, 20 pouches a can. At NicotineBuzz that is 10 cans for £27.90, which is £2.79 a can, dropping to £2.49 a can on 20 and £2.29 on 40 or more, mixed across any Fumi flavours, against the £3.99 to £4.49 singles trade elsewhere.

Fumi Fiery Mint 8mg Strong nicotine pouches can, blue tin with the HOT flame mark

On paper it sounds like a mistake. Mint is the pouch industry's comfort blanket, the thing you reach for when you want to know exactly what you are getting, and Fumi has deliberately made theirs uncomfortable. In practice it works for the same reason a chilli-chocolate bar works: the two sensations occupy different parts of the mouth, and holding both at once is more interesting than either alone. Whether you enjoy interesting is the real question here.

What Does Fumi Fiery Mint Taste Like?

Mint first, and a proper one. The opening is a clean, slightly sweet mint closer to Spearmint than to the glacial peppermint of Freezy Mint, which is a deliberate choice; a heavy menthol freeze would have flattened the chilli entirely. Fumi's moist-cut pouches release it fast, so the mint is fully there inside a minute.

The warmth arrives around minute three and the collision begins. Menthol works by triggering the cold receptors in your mouth and capsaicin by triggering the hot ones, so nothing cancels out. You get both signals at once, and the brain files the result as a kind of buzzing intensity rather than as a temperature. It is genuinely novel, and for the first can it is also genuinely distracting.

By minute ten the two have settled into a rhythm: cool on the inhale, warm underneath, a faint tingle along the gum that outlasts both. The finish is where it earns its keep, because the chilli stops the mint doing its usual disappearing act and the flavour is still clearly present at the half-hour mark. Expect 30 to 45 minutes.

How Hot Is "Fiery", Exactly?

Calibration matters when a flavour puts chilli in its name, so here is the same honest scale we apply to Fiery Mango. Nought is a plain fruit pouch. Ten is raw scotch-bonnet foolishness that no pouch maker attempts, because the mouth is not the place for heroics. Fiery Mint sits around a three, but it is the hardest of the three to place, because the mint genuinely changes how the heat registers.

Some people find the cooling takes the edge off and read it as the mildest of the Fiery range; others find the contrast makes both halves louder and put it at the top. Fiery Lime is a more straightforward three and a half, Fiery Peach a gentler two and a half, and Fiery Mango the mild two. Nothing we stock outguns Velo Cinnamon Flame at four to five.

8mg or 15mg? Fumi Takes a Fruit Flavour to the Top of the Ladder

This is the genuinely new part, and it is easy to miss. Until July 2026 Fumi's 15mg Ultra Strong tier belonged to exactly two cans, Freezy Mint and Spearmint. If you wanted the brand's top strength you took mint, full stop. The Fiery range breaks that for the first time: all three new flavours ship in 8mg and 15mg, which triples the number of Ultra Strong Fumi cans in one go and takes the number of 15mg Fumi mints from two to three.

Fumi Fiery Mint 8mg Strong and 15mg Ultra Strong cans compared, showing the strength squares printed on each tin

Two rulers are in play on this page, as always with Fumi. The tin prints the brand's own gauge, three filled squares of six for the 8mg and five of six for the 15mg. The dots beside the strength selector above use our cross-brand scale instead, which has to stretch all the way to 50mg Pablo cans, so the same pouch reads Medium and High respectively. Neither is lying; they answer different questions. The milligrams on the tin are the number that matters.

A word of advice about the 15mg specifically. Heat and nicotine both register as intensity, and they stack. An experienced user stepping from an 8mg fruit pouch to a 15mg Fiery one is changing two variables at once and will usually describe the result as harsher than the numbers deserve. Buy the 8mg first, learn what the chilli does, then decide whether you want it louder. Behind both numbers the house chemistry is identical: citric acid balanced against sodium carbonate so the nicotine crosses the gum quickly, and a stabiliser that flattens the release into one even line rather than a front-loaded burst.

The all-white construction matters beyond looks. White pouches will not stain your teeth the way traditional snus can, and the slim cut sits flat under the lip without the tell-tale bulge. The flame and the word HOT on the tin are Fumi's own marking; on a can that also says mint, they are worth reading twice before you hand one to a friend as a joke.

How to Use Fumi Fiery Mint Pouches

Take one pouch and set it under your upper lip, flat against the gum and slightly off-centre. The first minute or two brings a tingle; with a Fiery pouch that tingle and the chilli warmth arrive together, which is a lot of sensation at once if you have never used a warm flavour before. It settles quickly.

Leave it in for 20 to 45 minutes. The flavour usually fades before the nicotine does, so let your own taste call time rather than the clock. When you are finished, the lid of every Fumi can has a catch compartment for used pouches, which saves you hunting for a bin and saves everyone else finding one in a pint glass.

One pouch at a time is plenty, particularly at 15mg. Swallowing your saliva is fine, swallowing the pouch is not. If this is your first nicotine pouch of any kind, start on our low strength shelf instead and come back to the Fiery range once you have your bearings.

Fumi Fiery Mint vs the Rest of the Mint Shelf

Mint is the most crowded category in nicotine pouches, so the only useful comparison is what each one does differently:

PouchStrengthCharacter
Fumi Fiery Mint8mg / 15mgThe only mint with chilli. Cool and warm at once
Fumi Freezy Mint4mg to 15mgGlacial peppermint. The brand's cold extreme and its widest ladder
Fumi Spearmint8mg to 15mgSofter, sweeter mint for all-day wear
Velo Crispy Peppermint6mg / 10mgThe UK's default peppermint. Clean, cold, unsurprising
ZYN Cool Mint1.5mg to 11mgDrier pouch, slower release, the widest strength range here
Killa Cold Mint16.5mgExtreme cold and strength. A different sport entirely

The short version: every other can on that list is a variation on how cold you want it. Fiery Mint is the only one asking a different question. If you have been buying peppermint out of habit for two years and it has stopped registering, this is the can that will wake your mouth up. If you buy mint precisely because it is predictable, buy Spearmint instead and we will both be happier.

Where Fiery Mint Sits in the Fumi Range

Fumi now runs a cold wing and a warm wing, and this is the first can to stand in both. The cold side is Freezy Mint and Spearmint; the warm side is Dark Spice, Fiery Mango and now the Fiery trio. Putting mint into the warm range is the brand doing what it has always done, which is to take the one ingredient everybody treats as settled and unsettle it.

Among the three new cans, this is the experiment. Fiery Peach is the easy one and Fiery Lime is the purist's one; Fiery Mint is the one to buy if you want to feel something you have not felt before. The full range lives on our Fumi collection page, with the neighbours on the minty and spicy and herbal shelves.

Fumi launched in 2021, founded by Kaj and Dennis, two Swedes the industry calls the Snus Brothers, and manufactures at Helix Sweden AB in Ödeshög. The house chemistry is the same across every can: pH-balanced with citric acid and sodium carbonate so the nicotine crosses the gum quickly, then stabilised so the release stays level instead of spiking. The official range is on the Fumi website.

Is Fumi Fiery Mint Any Good? Our Verdict

It is the most inventive thing in the Fiery range and the hardest to recommend blindly. The mint is well judged, sweet enough to leave room for the chilli rather than bulldozing it, and the sensation of hot and cold running simultaneously is a genuine novelty in a category where novelty usually means a new fruit. For jaded mint users it is the most interesting can on our shelves.

It is also the one most likely to be returned to the drawer. The first pouch is confusing rather than pleasant, and you need two or three before your mouth stops treating the contradiction as an error. The 15mg compounds that, so please start at 8mg here more than anywhere else in the range. Give it a fair hearing across a week and it either clicks completely or not at all; there is very little middle ground, which we suspect is exactly what Fumi intended.

Who should skip it: anyone who reads "chilli" as a dare rather than a seasoning and expects real burn, anyone who wants a 4mg starting point, since the Fiery range has none, and anyone whose pouch life is happily all frost. Mint traditionalists, the minty shelf is that way, and the full Fumi range has fourteen calmer options.

Price: What Ten Cans of Fumi Fiery Mint Should Cost

Singles of the Fiery range sell for £3.99 to £4.49 at the UK pouch specialists, so ten cans bought one at a time runs to roughly £39.90 to £44.90. Our pack lands the same ten cans for £27.90, which is £2.79 each. Take two packs of any Fumi flavours and every can drops to £2.49; four packs or more and it falls to £2.29 a can, a shade under 12p a pouch. None of the page-one stockists we checked offers a 40-can rate at all, and you can mix strengths and flavours freely across the pack without the price moving.

Fiery Mint is brand new, so you will also find it in our new in collection alongside the rest of the Fiery range. The honest caveat to close on: nicotine is addictive whatever flavour it arrives in, and pouches are for adults who already use nicotine, not a habit worth starting. If stopping altogether is the goal, the NHS Better Health service is free and rather good at it.
