Killa

A sweet blue-candy berry sitting over menthol: icy in the opening seconds, then progressively fruitier as the session runs. Product Description

Killa Exclusive Blue Mint: A Berry Can Wearing a Mint Coat

Killa Exclusive Blue Mint is menthol with a sweet blue-candy berry laid over it, which makes it the only can in Killa's seven-strong mint range that has fruit in it at all. It carries 13.2mg of nicotine per pouch, the same as everything else the brand makes. What it does not carry is a consistent description anywhere on the internet, and that is worth dealing with first.

Why the Reviews Contradict Each Other

Read four listings for this can and you get two entirely different products. Some describe a hard-hitting mint where the icy element is powerful and arrives instantly. Others describe a sweet, fruity blueberry profile with noticeably less cooling than the rest of the range. One independent Killa ranking puts it in its top ten specifically as an intense mint with a vibrant icy hit.

Both are accurate, and the reason is timing.

The menthol lands first, within seconds, and it lands hard. If you write your impression in the opening minute, this is an icy mint pouch. But menthol is volatile and burns off faster than the berry does, so from around the five minute mark the cooling recedes and the sweet blue fruit steps forward and stays there. If you write your impression at twenty minutes, this is a sweet berry pouch with a cool edge.

Nobody is wrong. They just stopped paying attention at different points.

The Session, Roughly

0 to 2 minutesSharp menthol, cold and forward, very little fruit
2 to 6 minutesThe berry arrives underneath and the two sit level
6 to 20 minutesSweet blue candy leads, cool holds behind it
20 minutes onwardCooling largely gone, sweetness fading slowly

Total useful flavour sits in the usual Killa window of 20 to 45 minutes. Drip is low, which is unusual for a sweet can and worth noting.

The Three Blue Killa Cans

Killa puts the word blue on three products and they are not variations on a theme. This is the comparison that stops people ordering the wrong one.

Exclusive Blue MintBlue-candy berry over mentholYes, front-loadedYou want a mint that does not taste medicinal
Exclusive Blue RaspberryBlue razz soda with a sherbet edgeNoneYou want the sweet-shop flavour with no mint at all
BlueberryActual dark blueberry fruitNoneYou want fruit rather than confectionery

All three run at 13.2mg. If you want the full explanation of why blue raspberry tastes nothing like a raspberry, it lives on the Blue Raspberry page rather than being repeated here. The short version applies to this can too: the berry in Blue Mint is a confectionery berry, not a fruit one.

Why Mint Pouches Use Candy Berries Instead of Real Fruit

There is a reason every fruit-and-mint pouch on the market reaches for blue candy, bubblegum or sweet-shop berry rather than something that tastes like the actual fruit, and it is not laziness.

Menthol does two things to your mouth that make delicate flavours very hard work. It triggers the cold receptors, which is the obvious part, and it also suppresses your perception of sweetness and partially numbs the surface of your tongue while it is doing so. Put a subtle, low-impact fruit note underneath that and you will not taste it. It is still in the pouch. You simply cannot detect it through the interference.

What survives is flavour with high impact and heavy sweetness, which is exactly what confectionery flavours are engineered to be. So the choice is between a candy berry you can taste through the menthol and a realistic berry you cannot, and every brand makes the same call.

That also explains the arc described above. As the menthol fades, the suppression lifts, and the berry appears to get stronger. It is not getting stronger. You are simply becoming able to taste it again.

Where It Sits Among the Killa Mints

Low to medium on cooling once the opening has passed, and the sweetest of the seven by a comfortable margin. That makes it the softest landing in the range for anyone who finds Cold Mint or Cold X Mint genuinely unpleasant, and the wrong choice entirely for anyone chasing the freeze. The full seven-way ranking sits on the Killa Exclusive Double Mint page rather than being rebuilt on every mint listing.

Its nearest neighbour on flavour is not another mint at all. If you like Blue Mint and want to drop the menthol, the answer is Blue Raspberry. If you like it and want to keep the menthol but lose the sweetness, it is Green Mint.

One comparison worth making properly, since both cans get filed as "the sweet ones". Killa's other sweet mint is Spearmint, and the two sweetnesses are not the same kind. Spearmint's sweetness is built into the mint itself, a rounded herbal quality that comes from the spearmint character rather than from anything added on top. Blue Mint's sweetness is a separate confectionery flavour sitting alongside the menthol. So Spearmint tastes like sweet mint and Blue Mint tastes like mint and something sweet, which sounds like hair-splitting until you have used both. Spearmint is also the softer of the two on cooling by a good distance.

Getting the Version of This Can That You Want

Because the character shifts partway through, you have more control here than with most pouches, and it is worth using.

Want the icy version? Keep sessions short, ten to fifteen minutes, and take the pouch out while the menthol is still doing the work. You will get the cold hit and very little of the sweetness, and a can used this way will last you more sessions than usual.

Want the berry version? Sit with it. Past fifteen minutes the cooling has largely gone and what remains is a sweet blue fruit pouch with a faint chill behind it, which is a genuinely different experience from the same tin.

Two practical notes either way. A fresh can leans colder than one that has been open a fortnight, because menthol escapes and the berry does not, so an older tin naturally gives you the sweeter reading whether you wanted it or not. And placement matters more than usual: menthol is felt where the pouch touches, so tucking it further back moves the cold away from the front of your lip without changing the flavour.

There Are Two Exclusive Blue Mints, and They Are Not Close

Worth flagging, because our own search traffic shows people landing on the wrong one. Pablo also sells an Exclusive Blue Mint, and since both brands come out of NGP Empire's factory in Aalborg the two cans really are relatives rather than coincidences.

Killa Exclusive Blue Mint13.2mg16.5mg/gBerry-forward once the menthol settles
Pablo Exclusive Blue Mint30mg50mg/gSame idea, more than double the dose

Say the brand name when you search, in other words. The pouch paper, the moisture level and the way the pouch sits under your lip are shared between them, so the difference is very close to purely strength. That makes Killa a sensible place to find out whether you like the flavour before deciding whether you want it at 30mg. The strength guide covers the Pablo ladder in full.

The number on the lid is a concentration, not a dose. Every Killa can we stock runs at the same figure regardless of line or flavour, and Exclusive is a flavour series rather than a tier above Original, whatever the wider internet says. The long version of the label explainer is on the Killa Energy page and the brand overview is on the Killa nicotine pouches hub.

Who Should Skip It

Mint purists. If your idea of a mint pouch is clean menthol and nothing else, the sweetness here will read as interference rather than as a feature, and Green Mint or Cold Mint are the honest recommendations instead. Anyone new to pouches, since 13.2mg is a serious dose and a sweet flavour does a good job of hiding it. And anyone hoping for real blueberry, because this is a confectionery berry and the fruit version is a separate can.

Getting the Best Out of It

Eat first. Fifteen to twenty minutes for early sessions, and be aware that this can genuinely tastes different at minute two and minute fifteen, so give it time before deciding. Keep the lid clicked shut, because menthol is the volatile part and an open can loses its cold well before it loses its sweetness, which turns a balanced pouch into a plain sweet one. Our guide to how many pouches a day is sensible is worth reading if you are stepping up from a milder brand.

Cans are sold in packs of ten, which is 200 pouches, and the per-can price steps down as you add packs: £3.50 a can at two packs, £3.33 at three and £2.99 at four. Mixing brands and flavours across packs is fine, and it is the sensible way to try this against a plain mint and settle which side of the argument you are on. The single-pack rate sits on the product panel above.

The Verdict

The friendliest can in a range that mostly is not trying to be friendly. Blue Mint is what you buy when menthol on its own has stopped being enjoyable but you are not ready to give up the cold entirely, and its habit of changing character halfway through the session is a feature once you know to expect it. It is not the coldest Killa, it is not the most sophisticated, and mint purists will find the sweetness irritating. For everyone else it is the easiest thirty minutes in the Exclusive line.

Written and fact-checked by the NicotineBuzz product team against current UK listings and published independent reviews in August 2026, which disagree with each other on this can more than on most. Strength figures come from the can and our own variant rather than from retailer copy. Updated August 2026.

A note on the numbers: Killa prints strength per gram of pouch material, so "16" means about 13mg of nicotine in each 0.8g pouch. Our snus vs nicotine pouches guide decodes per-gram labels across every brand we stock.
