Killa - Blueberry Extra Strong | 10 Cans

Product Description

Killa Blueberry Extra Strong: The Verdict Up Front

Killa Blueberry Extra Strong is the most convincing fruit flavour Killa makes, and one of only two cans the brand launched with back at the start. It tastes like jammy ripe blueberry with a genuine tart edge underneath, rather than the flat sugary berry most pouch brands settle for, and it holds that flavour for longer than the lighter fruit cans in the range. 13.2mg of nicotine per pouch, 20 slim pouches, no cooling agents worth speaking of.

The short version: buy it if you want fruit that tastes like fruit and you already have a nicotine tolerance. Skip it if you are new to pouches, or if you actually meant Blue Raspberry, which is a sweet-shop flavour and a completely different experience.

What Killa Blueberry Actually Tastes Like

Sweet ripe blueberry arrives first, closer to jam or compote than to fresh fruit off the bush. A tanginess follows within a minute or two, and that tart edge is what stops the can becoming boring over a long session. The finish is smooth and lingers as a fruity aftertaste rather than dropping off a cliff.

What sets it apart from most fruit pouches is that it does not taste synthetic. Reviewers reach for the word authentic more often with this can than with anything else in the Killa fruit line-up, and having tasted the alternatives, that is fair.

One genuine disagreement worth flagging. Some reviewers report a faint mint or cooling edge sitting behind the berry, describing a mild chill on placement and a sharp note in the aroma. Others taste no cooling at all and call it purely fruit. Our read is that any cooling here is very slight and inconsistent between batches, so treat it as a possible background note rather than a feature. Nobody buys this can for the cold; if that is what you want, the mint cans exist.

What "Extra Strong" Means, and What the 16.5mg Is

Two labelling points, because this can attracts more strength confusion than most.

First, Extra Strong is the name of Killa's Original line, not a tier above anything. A Killa Extra Strong can and a Killa Exclusive can hold exactly the same amount of nicotine. Nobody is trading up by buying this.

Second, the 16.5mg shown in the dropdown above is measured per gram of filling. A Killa pouch weighs 0.8g, so the dose is 13.2mg of nicotine per pouch. That second number is the one to compare against whatever you use now.

FigureValueWhat it describes
Per gram16.5mg/gConcentration, printed on the can and shown in the dropdown
Per pouch13.2mgThe dose in the portion you use
Pouch weight0.8gWhat connects the two figures

For scale, a typical supermarket pouch is around 6mg. This is roughly double that. The Killa hub lays the arithmetic out across the whole range.

What the Reviews Agree On, and Where They Do Not

Blueberry has been in the range longer than almost anything else, so there is more written about it than about the newer cans. The consensus and the disputes are both worth knowing.

PointWhere reviewers land
Flavour qualityBroad agreement that it is the most authentic-tasting fruit can Killa makes
Nicotine deliveryAgreement: arrives quickly and sits firmly at the extra-strong level
Flavour durationAgreement that it outlasts the lighter fruit cans, though estimates range from 20 to 45 minutes
Mint or coolingGenuine disagreement. Some detect a faint chill and a sharp aroma note, others none at all.
SweetnessAgreement that the tart edge keeps it from cloying, unlike the candy-flavoured cans

Killa Blueberry or Clew Blueberry?

Worth answering directly, because a lot of people searching for one end up looking at the other, and we stock both.

The real difference is choice. Clew Blueberry comes in four different strengths, from a mild option up to one that sits above Killa, so you can pick the intensity that suits you. Killa Blueberry comes one way only, at 13.2mg, and that is the entire decision. Flavour-wise Killa leans jammier and more tart; Clew is the smoother, rounder take on the same fruit.

If you want a blueberry pouch and are unsure about strength, Clew is the more forgiving purchase because you can move up or down. If you already know 13.2mg suits you and you want the better-tasting berry, this is the can.

If Killa Blueberry Is Too Strong

13.2mg is a lot, and blueberry is a flavour plenty of people want at a gentler strength. These are the milder blueberry cans on our shelves.

CanBrandCharacterWhy pick it

Against Its Own Berry Siblings

Within Killa itself, blueberry sits among a handful of dark-fruit cans that get confused with each other constantly.

CanLineHow it differs from Blueberry
Exclusive Blue RaspberryExclusiveSweet-shop candy with a sherbet tang. Not fruit, and not blueberry.
Grape IceOriginalDark grape sweets plus a cold finish. Sweeter, and it lasts longer.
Exclusive Dark CherryExclusiveDeeper and richer, with no cola behind it. Maraschino rather than fresh fruit.
Strawberry LycheeOriginalLighter and floral rather than jammy.

The rest of the range sits in Killa Original and Killa Exclusive.

The Honest Pros and Cons

In its favour: the best fruit flavour in the Killa Original line, tart enough not to cloy, longer-lasting than the lighter fruit cans, and free of the menthol burn that makes the mints hard work. Nicotine delivery is quick and consistent.

Against it: 13.2mg is too much for anyone new to pouches. It is a moist can, so it produces some drip. There is only one strength, so if it does not suit you there is nowhere to go within the product. And the possible faint cooling note divides people, which is an odd thing not to have settled after this many years on sale.

Getting the Session Right

Eat something first. Fruit cans are easy to underestimate because nothing about them feels aggressive, and 13.2mg on an empty stomach still ends the same way it always does.

Place it under the upper lip, leave it alone, and give the tart edge a couple of minutes to show up. Fifteen minutes is a sensible first session. Our guide to how many pouches a day is sensible covers pacing, and what snus actually is explains why these are not snus despite what everyone calls them.

Who Should Not Buy This Can

Anyone new to nicotine pouches. Start milder and come back.

Anyone who wanted blue raspberry. Different flavour, different can, and the names catch people out weekly.

Anyone who wants cooling. There is effectively none here.

Anyone who needs to choose their own strength. This can has one setting; Clew Blueberry is the flexible alternative.

Fakes, Storage and the Practical Bits

Check that the lid print is crisp rather than soft at the edges, that the batch code is stamped into the can rather than stickered on, and that the catch lid closes flush. NGP publishes its own listings at killapods.eu for comparison.

Keep the can closed and out of sunlight, and use the fridge if it lasts you more than a fortnight. Moist fruit pouches dry out after opening, and a dried blueberry pouch loses the tart edge first, leaving something noticeably flatter. Cans are sold in packs of ten, which is 200 pouches, and the per-can price steps down as you add packs: £3.50 a can at two packs, £3.33 at three and £2.99 at four. The single-pack rate is on the listing above.

Final Word

Killa has added a lot of flavours since it launched, and a fair number of them are louder than this one. Blueberry has survived because it is simply well made: a fruit flavour with enough acidity to stay interesting for forty minutes, attached to a strength that means business. It is the can we would point somebody at if they said they wanted Killa but could not face the mints.

Just be clear which blue thing you are buying. Blueberry is fruit. Blue raspberry is sweets. They are not interchangeable, whatever the search box thinks.

Sweet, juicy blueberry flavour with a slightly tangy edge
Really enjoyed KILLA Blueberry. It has a sweet, juicy blueberry flavour with a slightly tangy edge. The berry taste is bold and refreshing, making this a really easy flavour to enjoy. Definitely one I’d pick up again.
