Product Description

Killa Cola Extra Strong: Straight Cola, Not Cherry Cola

Killa Cola Extra Strong is the plain cola can in the range: caramel-sweet, lightly tangy, and recognisably cola-bottle sweets rather than a complicated flavour. It carries 13.2mg of nicotine per pouch across 20 slim pouches. Killa also makes Exclusive Cherry Cola, which is a different and sweeter can, and the two get bought interchangeably far too often.

This page covers the split from this side, the mint question that reviewers cannot agree on, and every cola pouch on our shelves ranked by how strong it actually is.

Cola or Cherry Cola? The Split From This Side

Simply put: this can is the base, and the Exclusive version puts fruit on top of it.

QuestionKilla ColaExclusive Cherry Cola
What you getCola on its ownCola with dark cherry over it
SweetnessMedium, caramel-ledHigh, and it stays high
ComplexityOne clear flavourTwo layers that keep shifting
All-day useEasier, less tiringCan get heavy after a few
LineOriginal, 13.2mgExclusive, 13.2mg

Neither is stronger. If you want the drink you actually remember, this one. If you want the richer version, the Exclusive. And if you want cherry without any cola at all, that is Exclusive Dark Cherry, which is deeper and has no fizz behind it.

What Killa Cola Tastes Like

Caramel first, then the familiar soft-drink tang, with a fizzy impression that comes from the flavouring rather than any actual carbonation. It is well made: the caramelised sweetness lands without the bitter edge that spoils a lot of cola flavours, and there is no artificial aftertaste.

Reviewers consistently note it holds up for a long session, with flavour reported as lasting up to around forty five minutes, which is towards the top end for this range. The pouch runs slightly drier than the sweet fruit cans and drip is low, which makes it one of the more practical cans to use at a desk.

The Mint Nobody Agrees On

This is the one thing worth knowing before you buy, and it is genuinely unresolved. Several reviewers report a menthol or mint element in this can. One long-standing review describes opening the can to a heavy menthol presence with only a light cola note behind it. Another describes it as cola with a hint of mint. A third retailer listing describes the flavour in detail and mentions no cooling at all.

Our reading is that there is some cooling in the formulation, that it is more noticeable to some people and in some batches than others, and that nobody should buy this expecting either a pure cola or a mint can. If a definite cooling finish is what you want with your cola, 77 Cola Ice does it deliberately and consistently.

Why Cola Works Better Than Fruit for All-Day Use

Worth knowing if you are choosing something to keep in a pocket rather than something to try once. Cola is a warm, rounded flavour built on caramel and spice rather than on sugar and acid, and warm flavours fatigue the palate far more slowly than bright ones do. Three sweet fruit pouches in a row and most people want a break; three cola pouches and most people do not notice.

The low drip helps too. This can runs drier than the fruit flavours in the Original range, and drier still than the sweeter blends in Killa Exclusive, which matters a great deal if you are using pouches around other people.

The trade is that it is not exciting. Nobody describes a cola pouch as their favourite flavour; they describe it as the one they keep buying. That is a different and arguably better thing.

Every Cola Pouch We Stock, By Strength

Cola is one of the best-served flavours on our shelves, spanning a very wide strength range. Rather than pretend this can is the only option, here is the honest map. Strength descriptions below are relative bands rather than per-pouch doses, since brands label differently.

CanStrength bandWhat it is
XQS Cola LimeMildCola with lime, the lightest cola on the shelf
77 Cola IceMediumCola with a deliberate cooling finish
77 Cola VanillaMediumSofter and creamier, closer to a cola float
Killa ColaStrong13.2mg per pouch. Straight caramel cola.
Iceberg ColaStrongA heavier take on the same idea
Pablo Gold Edition ColaVery strongAbout 17mg per pouch, same factory as Killa
Pablo Exclusive ColaExtremeAbout 30mg per pouch. The flavour takes a back seat.

The three-rung Killa to Pablo ladder is worth noting because all three come out of the same NGP Empire factory in Aalborg, so the pouch feel and release behaviour carry across and only the dose really changes. Our Pablo strength guide covers where that ends up.

Reading the 16.5mg on the Can

The dropdown reads 16.5mg, which is a concentration per gram rather than a dose. Pouches weigh 0.8g, so the figure that matters is 13.2mg of nicotine per pouch.

FigureValueWhat it describes
Per gram16.5mg/gConcentration, as printed on the can
Per pouch13.2mgThe dose in one portion
Pouch weight0.8gWhat links the two

Be careful with other listings for this can in particular. One retailer page states 24mg per gram in its description, 16mg per gram in its specification table and 12mg per portion further down, which are three incompatible figures on a single page. Others show 12.8mg per pouch, an older rounding. Ours is 16.5mg per gram across 0.8g pouches, so 13.2mg. The Killa hub covers the arithmetic across the range.

Killa Is Danish, Not Swedish

Worth correcting because it is repeated constantly, including on pages selling this exact can under headings like "A Taste of Sweden". Killa is made by NGP Empire, based in Aalborg in northern Denmark, and so is Pablo. The confusion comes from the word snus, which people attach to anything pouch-shaped and mentally file under Sweden.

It matters slightly more than pedantry: Swedish snus is a tobacco product and these are not. Our explainer on what snus actually is sets out the difference properly.

Running the Session

Eat first. A soft-drink flavour is disarming and this is still roughly double a supermarket pouch.

Place it flat under the upper lip and leave it. This is one of the longer-lasting flavours in the range, so there is no need to rush it, though fifteen minutes is still the sensible first session. Our guide to how many pouches a day is sensible covers pacing.

Who Should Skip It

Anyone who wanted the cherry version. That is a separate can and noticeably sweeter.

Anyone who dislikes menthol and wants certainty. The cooling here is inconsistent, and if that would annoy you, choose a can where the answer is definite in either direction.

Anyone new to nicotine pouches. 13.2mg is roughly double a starter pouch.

Anyone wanting a bright, sharp flavour. Cola is warm and rounded rather than zesty; Exclusive Lemonade is the sharp option in the drinks corner.

Fakes, Storage and the Practical Bits

Check that the lid print is crisp rather than soft at the edges, that the batch code is stamped into the can rather than stickered on, and that the catch lid closes flush. NGP publishes its own listings at killapods.eu for comparison.

Keep the can closed and out of sunlight, and refrigerate if it lasts more than a fortnight. The spice and citrus notes under the caramel are what a drying pouch loses first, leaving a flatter and sweeter can. Cans are sold in packs of ten, which is 200 pouches, and the per-can price steps down as you add packs: £3.50 a can at two packs, £3.33 at three and £2.99 at four. The single-pack rate is on the listing above.

The Verdict

An underrated can. Cola is easy to do badly and this version avoids the usual failures: no bitterness, no chemical aftertaste, and a flavour that genuinely lasts rather than collapsing at fifteen minutes. It is also one of the drier and lower-drip pouches in the range, which makes it more practical than the sweet fruit cans.

The only real uncertainty is the cooling, which some people find prominent and others do not notice at all. If you want cola with a guaranteed cold finish, buy a can built for it. If you want the drink itself at a serious strength, this is the one.
